About The Gym

The Best Gym in Stillwater, MN

Who We Are

At our gym in Stillwater we believe that Fitness is a hedge against Sickness. We’ve all been told we should pursue “wellness” so our doctors are happy and our insurance premiums stay in check. That is too low of a target.

Set aside the quick fixes found on TikTok, Instagram or the new “miracle drug” and invest in yourself. Lasting change only comes through effort. It’s important to think about your well-being as more than just how you think others perceive you. Why not seek out help to build your self-confidence, establish goals that are just for you and take on challenges by choice. Once you do this you will recognize that others’ perceptions hold no value.

So how do we do it? We care and keep it simple. Our job is to share our knowledge and create an environment for you to succeed. Our Stillwater gym is really good at those things.

Here is the basic premise: “Eat meats and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and NO sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.”

This is Greg Glassman’s (the creator of CrossFit) description of world class fitness. It sums up exactly who we are and what we believe.

You Can't Do It Alone

Having a community of people surrounding you makes all the hard days, and there are a few of them, much more enjoyable. Over the past 10 years we have assembled a world class coaching staff that is here to serve you. Our number one job is teaching. In addition to a group of leaders who will change your life through inspiration, we also have a community of people who have been where you are and want you to succeed.

We all want to live better, the monotony of our daily routines is not enough to give us purpose. For the most part we all know what we need, but not many of us know how or have a community of people standing behind us to help us achieve it. Let us do that for you.

We do not subscribe to the notion that we deteriorate as we age, nor do we believe in the “one-size fits all” brand of fitness. We will work with you to meet you where you are at and get you moving towards the person you know you can be.

FAQ

What is CrossFit?

To be nerdy, it is constantly varied, functional movement, done at relatively high intensity. What that means in English is we do a bunch of different workouts, comprised of simple body-weight and free-weight movements, and we are pushing ourselves as hard as we want to or can on that day.

Is CrossFit only for fit people?

Absolutely not! We are all just a collection of people who like to work hard and support each other. From Doctors to police officers to stay-at-home moms and everything in between, every “ordinary” person can benefit from CrossFit training.

Do I have to get in shape before I start?

Nope. CrossFit is infinitely scalable to your fitness level and will meet you exactly where you are at. There is no better way to get fit, fast, than what we do.

What is On-Boarding?

On-Boarding is an introductory course that will expose you to the movements we do, explain the why behind our program, and demystify CrossFit. These are one-on-one sessions where you will meet with a coach; the sessions are designed to teach you all you need to know about doing CrossFit at LBCF.

Sessions are 1 hour in total and consist of: Warm-up (10 min); Teach / Coach / Correct (40 min); Workout (10 min).

How much does On-Boarding cost and do I have to do it alone?

On-Boarding costs $100 (added to your first month) and is required for all new members (this does not apply to experienced CrossFitters transferring from another affiliate).

We do partner On-Boarding for couples or friends. However, it’s still $100 per person.

What if I have bumps and bruises already?

We are sorry to hear that, but not a problem. The beauty of CrossFit is that it can be adjusted, scaled, or modified to fit anyone’s needs. During On-Boarding, we can come up with a plan on how to accommodate any injuries.

Cool! How do I sign-up?

Welcome to the family! To sign up for On-Boarding click on any of the “Get Started” buttons on our site. We will follow-up and get your On-Boarding sessions scheduled at your convenience.

We thrilled to have you trust us with your health and fitness!

What if, God forbid, I need to cancel?

It happens. People move, and lives change. Just send us an email or talk to a coach, and we will cancel your membership 1 month after notification.
